BUSINESS ELECTRICITY WORKSHEET

Do the two quotes cover the same costs?

Enter charges from two proposals for the same billing period. See how usage, demand and recurring fees affect the numbers you are comparing.

Enter the charges from your own proposals. No example figures are preloaded, and nothing here is a market rate or an offer.

Proposal A
Proposal B

Your entered cost comparison

Fill every field with a nonnegative number, including confirmed zeros. Energy usage must be above zero. Unknown charges prevent a complete comparison.

Method and assumptions

For each proposal: energy cost = kWh × energy rate in cents ÷ 100. Demand cost = billing demand in kW × demand rate in dollars. The entered total is energy cost + demand cost + fixed fee + other charges. The effective unit cost is entered total ÷ kWh × 100, expressed in cents/kWh.

Use matching periods and the same scope. Enter zero for a charge only when you have confirmed it does not apply or is already included. Include known delivery, taxes and other costs in the appropriate field without double counting. Negative credits, time-of-use blocks, ratchets, tiered pricing and index settlement formulas are not modeled; ask for a provider-calculated comparison when those apply.

This tool does not retrieve prices or forecast a bill. A difference between the figures you enter is not a promise of savings or a recommendation to switch. Renewal terms, minimum usage, early termination and other obligations still need review. Inputs stay in this page and are not submitted with an inquiry.

Before comparing proposals

Confirm the start date, contract term and whether the quoted energy price includes delivery. If a charge is unknown, leave it blank and resolve it before drawing a conclusion.
